Interactive Narrative
Warner Brothers, Fall 2006
Goal:
- At Warner Brothers I was frequently tasked with creating custom pages on
MySpace for movies or movie characters.
- These are actual screenshots, not comps. The only changes are the the
removal of friend information, and the 300 blog page was shortened to just
show 3 entries.
Details:
- The goal of this one was to combine the look of the official site done by
Big Spaceship with the look of the former 300 Blog site to create similar experience on
MySpace.
- That being said, most of the assets were already created and were altered
to fit the layout.
- I got a lot of freedom in terms of layout, some examples include adding
comic style boxes, font use, image placement, etc.
- For those that don't know, writing CSS for MySpace is quite difficult
compared to standard CSS coding (partially why ugly pages are the norm). Few
things in the html are tagged, and some CSS is removed outright by MySpace.
- Thus it takes quite a bit of tinkering to get the hang of it, and it is a good
example of designing under severe, unchangable technical restrictions.
