Personal Project, Fall 2006

Goal:

• To create a detailed car graphic to print on a full size printed poster.

Details:

• This image was made entirely with the Illustrator Pen tool.
• The outline version shows all the individual shapes that make up the image.
• This piece provided great practice in Illustrator, and creating more realistic vector art.
• The car pictured is a 2007 Saleen / Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang.

Comparison with "Live Trace"

• For those interested, I did a comparrison between this version and one using Adobe Illustrator's "Live Trace" feature.
• The manual are far superior in terms of detail, especially noticeable in the contour of the shapes and crispness of lines.
• In general "Live Trace" never produces a final professional grade product ready to be used with no manual editing.
